About Desert Door's Oak-Aged Spirit from desertdoor.com
Desert Door Texas Sotol is hand-crafted in Driftwood, Texas. ‘Sotol’ is both the name of our spirit and the desert plant we make it from. We wild-harvest all our sotol; we don’t farm or cultivate the plant, so as to conserve precious resources like land and water.
TASTING NOTES
Our Desert Door Oak-Aged Sotol is finished in virgin White Oak barrels and aged to taste for roughly a year. On the nose it’s akin to a young whiskey, with pleasing notes of vanilla, cedar and caramel. Sipping reveals more vanilla, along with dried cherries and oak. The finish brings back caramel and a creamy smoothness like vanilla custard, with just a hint of Eucalyptus.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
We recommend you enjoy our Oak-Aged neat or over an ice cube, though it does make a great sotol-based Old Fashioned.
